Amulet of Time: Shadow of La Rochelle Review
Amulet of Time: Shadow of la Rochelle is a Hidden Object Adventure Game from Big Fish Games. By the name itself, you can already feel what this game has in store for you. You have the opportunity to travel back in time. And as I can see two points in the title, it seems like this game will likely pave the way for numerous sequels should it be successful. But will this game be successful? Well, let's see the rest of this review.
The history of the game takes place in 16th century France, during the reign of King Henry II. Well, mostly, because you are originally from today, but the ghost of Diane de Poitiers appeared in front of you and transported you back in time. If you don't know who Diane de Poitiers is, she is actually King Henry II's favorite mistress. The task then assigned to you is to find the real cause of her death and find the conspirators of her murder before you can return to the present time.
Although the history of Amulet of Time: Shadow of la Rochelle is based on historical accounts, I suggest that you do not learn the history of the game as most of the story is inaccurate. Well that's quite understandable, because in order to sell a game successfully, the story needs to have more drama and it needs to entice you to play as long as possible. Amulet of Time: Shadow of la Rochelle does this very well. And I must say, this is one of the best hidden object game stories I have experienced this week.
In terms of the game, I have to say that, in general, the game is very beautiful. Graphics in general are very good. I especially loved the beautifully illustrated journal that tracks your progress in the game. The sounds are subtle and not annoying like most games and the puzzles range from fairly easy to moderately challenging. However, พระเครื่อง of Time: Shadow of la Rochelle is mostly hidden object scenes, so there are few adventure games involved. Regardless, this doesn't make the game any less addictive as I enjoyed every game moment as the story unfolds.
Overall, I say that the game is definitely a must buy. However, you should always check it through the free trial first and draw your own conclusions if it is also a pleasant experience for you.
