Harrods Shopping

Classic London entertainment

Harrods is probably the most famous store in the world, an iconic institution for fashion conscious people. Harrods is located on the thriving Brompton Road in Knightsbridge. You can buy anything from fish to couture, cutlery, tennis rackets, and the delicious dining rooms are second to none.

How to get there?

The tube is the best option; The closest stops are Knightsbridge, South Kensington and Sloane Square.

Go to the theater

It was always a dream of mine to step on the boards in London's West End. Fortunately for the performance setting I will have to fulfill my theatrical ambitions from across the stage. Top musicals like Billy Elliot, Dirty Dancing, and Mamma Mia are now showing at West End venues. The classic theater lover will enjoy the likes of Blood Brothers, Chicago and GIGI.

How to get there?

You can travel by train, subway, taxi and car or on foot, but for a hassle-free trip to the West End, I would recommend the tube. For updated travel information, call London Travel Information at: +44 (0) 20 7222 1234 or visit: http://www.tfl.gov.uk

Go to the theater outside!

The Regents Park Open Air Theater celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2007 with over 70 years of live theater in one of London's beautiful parks. From the contemporary stand to Elizabethan comedy and drama, the variety is vast. The lineups for the outdoor amphitheater this summer include a children's adaptation of the classic A Midsummer Nights Dream.

How to get there?

Tube to Regents Park Tube Station is located in Zone One and is easily accessible on other major tube lines. There are also 13 different buses to Regents Park that depart from various areas of London.

Go to a museum

London has some of the most famous museums in the world, including the majestic Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the British Museum, the Design Museum and Tate Modern. There are also smaller and more specialized (or quirky) museums like the Sherlock Holmes Museum for all those literature enthusiasts.

Many of the museums are freely accessible, which is rare in an expensive city like London. A great day for all ages and especially for children, the museums have certainly been modernized in the last ten years!

How to get there?

Most museums have their own websites that include complete instructions on how to get there. The most popular Natural History and Science museums are located together on Exhibition Road and Cromwell Road in South Kensington https://www.taxitolondonairports.com/

Go to a hotel for afternoon tea

The Savoy is one of London's most famous and acclaimed hotels, but is closed until 2009 for renovations. Other hot spots include Claridge's, Berkley, and Ritz. However, this is a popular idea, as Ritz advises to book 6 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment. Claridge's only has a menu of over 30 different teas from around the world, including well-cut sandwiches, dainty scones, and mini macaroons, but it's quite expensive from 'just' £ 31.50 a head.
I have to stop writing about this now because I'm hungry.
